Container Packer: Maximize Your 40ft Load
The Container Packer calculates optimal loading configurations for 40ft High-Cube containers carrying vehicles, kei trucks, tires, and other cargo. It’s available to Fleet Commander (single-vehicle preview) and all Container Club tiers (full mixed-cargo mode).
Internal container dimensions
A standard 40ft High-Cube container: 12.03m × 2.35m × 2.70m internal, 76 CBM total volume, 28,000–29,000kg payload limit. The Packer uses these exact dimensions for all calculations.
Adding vehicles to a load
Select vehicle type from the dropdown (pulled from the EV database for accurate dimensions) or enter custom dimensions. The Packer calculates floor space occupation, roof clearance, and whether side-by-side or tandem loading is possible for the specific vehicle combination.
Mixed cargo mode (CC tiers)
CC Trader and above can add non-vehicle cargo items: tires (measured in sets of 4), parts pallets (custom CBM and weight), LFP battery modules, and accessories. The Packer shows utilization percentage, remaining CBM, remaining payload capacity, and suggested fill items to reach target utilization.
Reading the output
Utilization %: percentage of available CBM used. Target 85%+ for optimal economics. Payload used: total weight vs container limit. Most vehicle loads are weight-limited before they’re volume-limited. Loading sequence: the recommended order for driving/loading vehicles to allow exit at destination.
Container share
If you’re shipping from Japan with other operators on the same route, Container Share listings let you fill void space in someone else’s container — or offer void space in yours. Available on the VDP for listings with container_share_available = true.
Void Space ROI Engine
Available on CC Trader+: given your route, vehicle value, and void CBM, the Void Space ROI Engine calculates which fill items maximize margin per CBM for your specific Japan→destination corridor.
