Creating Your First Listing

The WATTSHIP listing builder takes you through 7 steps to publish a vehicle on the marketplace. Here’s what each step requires and the common questions at each stage.

Step 1: Vehicle Basics

Select the category (vehicles, parts, tires, accessories, tools) and body type. Enter the year, make, model, and optional trim. All free-text fields — no dropdown restriction on make/model, as WATTSHIP covers vehicles from all global markets.

Step 2: Specifications

Select fuel type, transmission, drive side (RHD or LHD — defaults to the most common for your seller country), and mileage in km. Exterior and interior color are optional but improve search relevance. VIN and chassis number are optional but recommended for JDM vehicles where chassis number is often more meaningful than VIN.

Step 3: Auction Data (optional)

If the vehicle was purchased at a Japanese auction, enter the grades here. This section is entirely optional but significantly increases buyer confidence. The auction grade badges appear prominently on the VDP.

Step 4: Photos

Minimum 6, maximum 24. Upload any JPEG, PNG, or WebP file up to 10MB — the platform compresses automatically. See Listing Photos Guide for shot recommendations.

Step 5: Shipping

Select your seller country (where the vehicle currently is) and which countries you’re able to ship to. Toggle Container Share if you have void space available in a container booking. Toggle Inspection Available if a pre-purchase inspection service is accessible at the vehicle’s location.

Step 6: Pricing

Enter your asking price in USD. The commission preview shows your net amount after WATTSHIP commission (rate depends on your tier). The buyer sees the full price — commission is not shown separately to buyers.

Step 7: Review & Publish

Preview all listing data. Edit any section via the “Edit” links. Save as Draft to return later, or Publish to make the listing live. Draft listings are visible in your /dashboard/listings but not on the marketplace. Published listings appear immediately on /marketplace.
