Landed Cost Calculator: The Real Numbers

The Landed Cost Calculator on the Vehicle Detail Page shows you the estimated total cost of getting a vehicle from the auction hammer to your street. This is the number that matters for import economics — not the auction price alone.

What’s included in the estimate

Vehicle price — the auction purchase price or asking price in USD. Estimated freight — international shipping cost, pre-populated based on seller country to your country route. RoRo or container estimate depending on vehicle type. Estimated customs and import duty — destination country duty rate applied to declared value. Rates are pre-populated for all 8 WATTSHIP markets but are estimates only — actual rates depend on exact HS code and vehicle specifications. WATTSHIP commission — 4% for Free tier, 3.5% for Elite/Fleet, 3% for CC tiers. Capped at the tier’s transaction cap. Total landed cost — sum of all above, shown in your preferred currency.

Customize the estimate

Tap “Customize estimate” below the default breakdown to edit individual line items: enter your actual freight quote, adjust the duty rate if you have more precise HS classification data, or enter a confirmed exchange rate.

Currency display

All landed cost figures convert from USD cents to your preferred currency using the live FX rate from Frankfurter (ECB-backed), cached hourly. The USD equivalent is shown below the primary currency display.

Accuracy limitations

These are estimates. Actual customs duty depends on the specific HS code applied at the port of entry, declared value methodology accepted by your customs authority, applicable free trade agreements, and whether the vehicle has been modified from its original configuration. For high-value transactions, verify with a licensed customs broker in your destination country before committing.

Container Club freight quotes

CC Trader and above get access to live freight rate quotes from the Freight Rate Manager, which pulls current sea rates from integrated carriers. These replace the static estimate with actual carrier pricing.
