Marketplace Search and Filter Tips

Marketplace Search and Filter Tips

The WATTSHIP marketplace has 9 active filter types and 4 sort options. Used together, they narrow thousands of listings to the specific vehicles that match your buying criteria.

Country prefix and the country switcher

Each marketplace URL starts with a country prefix (/us/marketplace, /jp/marketplace, etc.). This filters listings by the seller’s country — not your destination. If you’re in Australia looking for Japanese vehicles, use /jp/marketplace.

The country switcher chips below the marketplace header let you jump between markets without retyping URLs.

Filter: Drive side

Default is “Any” — showing both RHD and LHD vehicles. Set to “RHD” if you’re importing to a right-hand-drive market (UK, AU, NZ, KE, JP), or “LHD” for US, CA, UAE. This single filter eliminates incompatible vehicles immediately.

Filter: Auction grade

Filters by the overall auction grade shown on the listing. Selecting grades 4 and 4.5 gives you above-average condition stock. Selecting R and RA gives you repaired vehicles at potentially lower price points.

Filter: Ships to

Shows only listings where the seller has indicated they ship to your country. If you’re based in Kenya, filtering by “ships_to=ke” shows only sellers who service the Kenyan market — saving time on listings that won’t ship to you.

Filter: Container share

Filters to listings where the seller has void space available in an active container booking. If you’re looking to split freight costs, this filter connects you to sellers already booking containers on your route.

Sort: Most Watched

Sorted by watch_count descending — shows you what other buyers are tracking. Useful for identifying vehicles with strong market interest before they sell.

Watchlist

Tap the heart icon on any listing card or VDP to add it to your watchlist. Watchlisted listings are accessible at /dashboard/watchlist. When a watched listing’s price drops or status changes, you receive an email notification (notification preferences at /dashboard/settings).

Empty state

If your filters return no results, try: widening the price range, removing the auction grade filter, switching from “ships_to” your specific country to “any”, or checking adjacent country marketplaces (NZ buyers often find relevant stock in AU or JP markets).
