Your First Auction Sheet Decipher
The Auction Sheet Decipher translates Japanese vehicle inspection sheets into plain English (or your preferred language) using Claude AI. This guide walks through your first decipher from a Vehicle Detail Page.
Where to find the Decipher button
The Decipher button appears on the Vehicle Detail Page (VDP) for any listing that has an auction sheet uploaded. Navigate to any listing on the marketplace, scroll to the “Auction Sheet” section, and tap “Decipher This Sheet.”
If the button shows “Upgrade to Elite Pilot” instead of activating, your current tier does not include decipher access. See Upgrading Your Tier.
What you get
The decipher returns:
- Overall grade — the inspector’s composite score (4, 4.5, R, etc.)
- Exterior grade — body panel condition (A through D)
- Interior grade — cabin condition (A through D)
- Damage indicators — each damage code translated with location and description
- Inspector comments — verbatim translated notes from the inspector
- Estimated condition — a plain-language summary of overall vehicle condition
Languages supported
Decipher output supports all nine WATTSHIP languages: English, Japanese, Arabic, Russian, Urdu, Spanish, Swahili, French, and Filipino. Your preferred language is set in the Triple-Picker in the header.
Quota usage
Each decipher consumes one quota credit. Your remaining credits appear below the decipher result. Quota resets on the 1st of each month. Elite Pilot: 1/month. Fleet Commander: 5/month. CC Trader+: 100/month.
If you run out of credits mid-month, upgrade to the next tier to access additional credits immediately.
Troubleshooting
“Auction sheet not available for this listing” — the seller has not uploaded an auction sheet. Contact the seller via the Deal Room to request one.
The decipher result shows “parsing error” — the image may be too dark, blurred, or cut off. This is an inherent limitation of working with physical scan quality. The quota credit is not consumed if the API call fails.
