Electric cargo van
The eVito, an electric panel van variant using the W447 chassis, was introduced in November 2017. Compared to the discontinued W639 Vito E-CELL, the W447 eVito had greater energy storage, 41.4 kWh, and greater range, at 150 km. Net capacity was 35kWh, later increased to 60 or 66 kWh for the standard and 'medium' battery. The two longer wheelbase lengths were offered; because the eVito carries a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 3200 kg, the maximum payload is greater than the conventional Vito, which has a GVWR of 2800 kg.
Electric passenger vans
Two variants of the passenger van version are offered: The eVito Tourer and the more upmarket Mercedes-Benz EQV (an electric variant of the V-Class). The EQV was unveiled as a concept at the March 2019 Geneva Motor Show with a more powerful drivetrain and a more capacious battery than the eVito offered at the time. A production prototype was shown that August. The EQV is equipped with a battery that has a gross/usable capacity of 100/90 kW-hr and on-board charging that accepts up to 11 kW (AC).
Engines
BlueEFFICIENCY package is standard on all versions of V-Class featuring the 7G-TRONIC PLUS automatic transmission and is optionally available for all variants with 6-speed manual transmission.

Check before you buy
- Ask for a battery state-of-health report: the traction battery is the main value driver in a used hybrid or electric car. Battery SOH tool
- Check the emissions equipment (particulate filter, NOx treatment) and the destination country's emissions rules; some markets restrict used diesels.
- Ask for service records: turbocharged engines are sensitive to oil changes and cool-down habits.
- Read the auction sheet grade and notes, and verify the odometer against service and inspection records. How to read an auction sheet
- Run a history check (accidents, flood, mileage) before you bid. History check guide
- Import age rules: this generation already qualifies in United Kingdom, Kenya. Confirm the rule for your exact vehicle with customs before buying. Landed-cost calculator
